Here’s an online link to our 2014 annual report, which details the progress for Maryland’s health insurance marketplace during the past year. The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange Act of 2011 requires the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE) to forward to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to the Governor and to the Maryland General Assembly an annual report on its activities in a standardized format required by the Secretary.
Specifically, the MHBE must report on health plan participation; consumer choice and participation; financial integrity, and the agency’s fraud, waste and abuse detection and prevention program. The report includes information on plan participation for both the 2014 and upcoming 2015 benefit years. Also included is consumer choice information based on data for the first open enrollment and continuing through September 30, 2014. The report also provides consumer satisfaction information for those individuals who sought the assistance of Connector Entities. It details the results of consumer surveys on Marylanders’ familiarity with Maryland Health Connection. Lastly, it contains a summary of activities related to MHBE’s financial integrity, marketing and outreach, and its fraud, waste and abuse prevention program.
